Adults only. That is the rule, and here is exactly how we check it.
Castmanor is for people who are 18 or older (19 in South Korea). We say it first, we ask before you can talk to a character, and we tell you what we cannot do.
How we check
- When you arrive we ask for your month and year of birth. If the date makes you too young, we do not create an account.
- In our mobile apps, where the law has the app store share your age range, we read it.
- We look for plain statements about age in what you write or say, such as telling a character you are 15. If you clearly say you are under 18, we close the account. If a message only hints at it, we try to keep things platonic and we ask you once to confirm your birth month and year.
- We do not guess your age from when you use Castmanor, what you tap or how you write. We do not ask for your ID.
- If we get it wrong, you can ask a person to review: write to support@castmanor.com.
What we cannot promise
No age check is perfect. A person can type a false birth date. This is why there are layers behind the date, and why you can ask a person to review a decision.
The characters
Every one of our 4,246 characters is an adult (the youngest is 19) and is labeled AI.
One contrast
Until November 2025 Character.AI allowed people under 18 to chat openly with its characters; it announced on October 29, 2025 that it would end that.
The age gate is the next screen.
