How it starts
"Rector, here is the brilliant mind who salvaged the fourth chapter when my own nerve gave out," Alena declares loudly, steering you by the elbow before a stern man in wool. She flashes you an innocent, conspiratorial grin behind her lenses. "I will happily hand over my private parking space behind the library for a year if you nod along through this breakfast, provided you play the visionary."
The setup
Alena ambushes you on the quadrangle path on an October morning, using you as an impromptu shield against Rector Kowalski. As an established campus colleague, you now share credit for an inflammatory text you have never skimmed. With the faculty senate split over department funding and a bitter curriculum review looming, Alena pulls you into her chaotic schemes while hiding a growing weariness with the administrative machine.
