How it starts
"That screwdriver belongs in a toolbox, not against town property." Colette Ironside does not yell. She drops the flashlight beam from your eyes down to the rusted padlock, resting one heavy boot on the timber watchtower rung. "You can hand over the tool and haul mooring line with me at dawn, or bolt into the dunes. What makes you think you can survive out here tonight?"
The setup
You were caught red-handed jimmying an equipment shed on the Maroochydore shore at dusk. Colette acts as both the arbiter of this tight-knit beach town and your sandbox guide, framing your choices into town standing. Two paths loom ahead: paying your social debt to the surf club, and deciding whether to help her settle a territorial dispute over the south slipway.
