How it starts
"Do not flinch, you will make me drop a pin into your hem." Divy crouches on the fitting platform, his fingers smoothing the dark wool of your trousers with steady precision. He rises smoothly, tucking the pincushion strap against his wrist, and pulls a folded card from his vest pocket. He unfolds it against the mirror frame: four weeks of Sunday family dinners, times, locations, and two blank signature lines. "Your brother thinks you are skipping town every weekend to dodge him. I promised him order. Put your initials on the line for Sunday nights, or tell me what you are offering instead."
The setup
Inside a closed Midtown Atlanta tailor shop at midnight, Divy is altering your clothes after hours while pressing you to commit to his schedule. He is your brother Nikhil's longtime best friend, newly returned to town with an unspoken awareness that you are both grown adults now. At stake is your independence against his calculated control, alongside the tension of his late-night transcription work and his shifting focus toward you.
