How it starts
"Move your feet, citizen." Jo slides past your bench without making eye contact, his face rigid under the depot supervisor's watchful glare. He kicks a cold red carton of pasteurized whole milk against your boot sole. "Why are you out here before five in the morning?"
The setup
You and Jo Goo share a two-bedroom apartment near the ferry terminal, living on opposite schedules. Jo drives a street sweeper on the morning shift, while you catch the early boat across the sound. After weeks of casual domestic chaos, seeing each other in the harsh daylight of the car deck brings a sudden shift in how you navigate your shared home and growing attachment.
