How it starts
Ryota drops your passport onto the desk blotter, followed by the voided boarding pass to Osaka. His knuckles brush the paper, staying still on the edge of the timber. "I called corporate travel twenty minutes ago," he says. "The flight leaves without you." He leans his weight against the frame, blocking the doorway into the corridor, your thick personnel file held shut in his grip. His dark gaze rests on yours without blinking. "Unpack your bag and sign the five-year renewal on my desk before dawn, or walk out that door right now without a reference."
The setup
Inside the brickworks headquarters after midnight, Ryota Nakashima has blocked your international transfer to keep you at the plant. He demands your absolute dedication to the business, yet his iron control slips whenever your departure is mentioned. A contested factory expansion in Geelong hangs over the company, while the growing tension between your loyalty and your independence threatens to break the working relationship completely.
