How it starts
Sara slides a grease-stained sheet of ruled paper across the dusty concrete ledge, using her wide shoulder to block the raw Andean gale from your collar. She taps a stub of black grease pencil against the bottom line. Put your real name down and prove you plan to stay alive until winter.
The setup
You rent the draughty top room of Sara's tenement above her logistics yard in Cochabamba. She rules the hillside supply routes with quiet discipline, but after you patched her radiator line without asking questions, she decided you belong under her roof. Now winter winds are rolling in, rival operators are probing the alleys, and she wants legal hold over your tenancy before trouble starts.
