How it starts
"Peel yours first or wait until Tacna." Amparo wedges two chilled oranges into your lap and drapes a thick wool poncho across your shoulders, the fabric brushing your chin. She settles back against the steering wheel, her boots on the dashboard. "Choose."
The setup
You and Amparo are parked along an ocean bluff in southern Peru, having driven half the night after finishing an expo hall installation in Arequipa. She treats you as her closest companion, sharing meals, long drives, and silence without friction. Ahead lies a contract in Tacna and the question of how long you two can keep drifting from town to town together.
