AI Character Bots for Telegram and Discord
You can chat with AI characters inside Telegram and Discord through bots. A bot is run by whoever built it, and on Telegram every bot receives the messages you send it in a private chat. This page explains how it works, what the Castmanor bots on Telegram and Discord do (they launched on October 21, 2026), and where to find group chats for roleplay.

What Castmanor is
Castmanor is a new app for adults where AI characters remember your name, your stories and your inside jokes, and you can see and edit what they remember. It is open now, and free.
Free. Adults only. Everyone here is an AI character.
How to chat with AI characters inside Telegram
Telegram’s own documents describe bots as small applications that run inside the Telegram app, and say the Bot Platform hosts more than 10 million bots and is free for users and developers. To use one, you find it, open it and press Start.
A bot is not Telegram. Someone else runs it on their own servers. Telegram’s Bots FAQ says that all bots, whatever their settings, receive all messages from private chats with users. So the owner of a bot can read what you send it. Read a bot’s privacy statement before you tell it anything private.
Castmanor has a Telegram bot, @CastmanorBot, which went live on October 21, 2026. Press Start and it asks for your birth month and year, because Castmanor is for adults (18 and older). Then you pick a character and chat. Every character is an AI. A button opens the same chat in the web app. It chats in private messages and does not join groups.
Open @CastmanorBot on Telegram. Castmanor’s Privacy page says what it keeps, and you can export your chats or delete your account in Settings in the web app.
Discord apps for AI character roleplay
Castmanor also has a Discord app, which also launched on October 21, 2026. You install it to your own Discord account, so you do not need a server. You then talk to it in your direct messages. Type /start to begin. Install the Castmanor app on Discord. Its profile says: “Everyone here is an AI, not a person. Adults only (18+).”
Its commands include /start, /talk, /chats, /browse, /find, /settings, /help and /privacy. It does not have voice notes, episodes or characters that write first.
We did not read other Discord bots’ documents, so we cannot compare them. The same caution as on Telegram applies: whoever runs a bot can see what you send it.
Group chats and multi-user roleplay outside Character.AI
Castmanor’s bots are for one person and one character at a time. If you want several characters in one chat, these services describe group chats.
- SpicyChat: its documents say a group chat can hold 2 to 10 chatbots, which talk to you and to each other.
- Nomi: its wiki has a Group Chats section covering group chat memory, narrators and NPCs.
- SillyTavern: a group chat has several characters, with reply order strategies such as Manual and Natural Order. SillyTavern is software you run on your own computer.
- Telegram groups: a bot in a group may only see commands unless its privacy mode is off. Telegram’s FAQ says bots with privacy mode on receive commands meant for them, and bots with it off receive all messages except those sent by other bots.
Bridges to Character.AI and what they ask for
Some open-source projects connect Telegram to Character.AI. One example on GitHub is a bot for developers. Its README says you run it yourself and give it the email address of your Character.AI account, and that it then receives an API key by email. The bot works through the Character.AI web app’s API.
Character.AI’s Terms say users will not use “data mining, robots, scraping or similar automated data gathering or extraction methods.” Never hand your password or login token to a bot you did not read the code of. See what to check before you use an export tool.
Bringing a character’s personality into a messaging bot
A bot can only be as consistent as the text it is given. Copy the character’s name, greeting and definition, then keep them the same. See how to back up your characters. Castmanor can also rebuild a character from a pasted chat or screenshots; see apps that can import Character.AI chats.
