Character.AI Alternatives in Spanish, Portuguese and Other Languages

An AI chat app can “speak” your language in three separate ways: its menus, its replies and its voice. Services publish different facts about each. This page lists what Character.AI, Castmanor and Kindroid say, and gives a five-minute test you can run in Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Indonesian or any other language.

Menus, replies and voice are three different things

Menus are the buttons and settings. They can be translated by the app’s team. Replies are what the AI character writes. They depend on the AI model and on how the app instructs it. Voice is what you say and what the character says in a call. It depends on the speech tools the app uses.

An app can have all menus in your language and still reply in English, or the other way round. Kindroid’s FAQ says exactly this: the interface language only changes menus and settings, the language a Kindroid chats and speaks in is separate, and the language used to transcribe your voice in calls and voice messages is set separately again.

Among the languages people ask about, the facts we can source are these. Character.AI lists Spanish, Portuguese, Korean and Japanese for calls. We did not find German, Hindi or Indonesian named on that page. Castmanor’s menus are in all seven languages.

Test any app in your own language in five minutes

Open the app and switch the menus to your language if it offers that. Note whether every screen changed.
Write three messages in your language, one casual, one with slang and one long. Check that the reply stays in your language and reads naturally.
Ask the character to switch language mid-chat and see what happens.
If you plan to use voice, make a short call and say a few sentences. Check that it understands you and answers in your language.
Look at how names, dates and numbers are written. Small mistakes there show how well the language is handled.

Character.AI’s help center lists Spanish for calls, and Castmanor’s menus are in Spanish with free voice calls. Test a short call in Spanish before you rely on it.

Is there an AI chat app in Indonesian?

Castmanor’s menus are in Indonesian. We did not find Indonesian named on Character.AI’s call page, so test it.
